R.Y.S.E. (Raising Youth to Serve & Empower)

R.Y.S.E. is a unique program that focuses on positive self-development through mentorship for girls between the ages of 9 to 13 and 14 to 17.

This inspiring program teaches teenage girls to work with and mentor younger girls. In the process, all participants are motivated to build their self-esteem, learn to be reflective and embrace self-respect – all while having fun and making new friends.

During the training sessions for the teenage girls, activities are explained and issues are discussed.   Once the weekly sessions begin, the older girls are assigned a younger girl to mentor.  Fun, interactive weekly projects are set and working together in small groups, the girls explore such topics as self-image, self-worth, positive qualities, future dreams, how to attain goals and making a difference in the community.

R.Y.S.E. is a creative program that supports girls as they work together to learn more about themselves and come to understand what gifts they have to offer their community. The program establishes a positive and safe environment for girls to communicate and grow together.

R.Y.S.E is a 20 week program for girls 9 to 17 that meets once a week for 2 ½ hours.  Every week homework help and healthy snacks are provided.

High-school students can use the mentorship portion of their participation in R.Y.S.E. to earn  their mandatory volunteer hours.
