The Reverend Vernal Savage is a St. Francis of Assisi Honorary Assistant in the Anglican Church of Canada.

He is a multi-talented leader in counseling, teaching, project management, banking, management consulting, organizational development, change management, and public policy. 

In addition, Vernal has considerable expertise  leading initiatives in both the public and private sectors

Vernal received his Masters in Divinity (MDiv.) from the University of Toronto-University of Trinity College, Toronto School of Theology, and is currently pursuing postgraduate studies in “Holiness, Effective Ministry, and Engagement with the World” at Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C., in partnership with Wesley House, University of Cambridge, England, U.K.

He also holds an MBA and a Bachelor of Science in Management Studies (BSc. Mangt.-Hon.) from the University of the West Indies. In addition, Vernal graduated from the University of Technology, formerly known as the College of Arts, Science, and
Technology, with an Ordinary Certificate in Business Studies (OCBS/ONC).

Vernal became a member of the HopeWorks Connection Inc. board of directors in 2020 and currently serves as Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors and Chair of the Fund Development Committee. He is a member of the Black Anglicans of Canada Leadership Team, and Black Clergies and Allies Steering Committee.

In addition, Vernal is an associate member of the Canadian Association of Spiritual Care and a volunteer with Basket Brigade Canada (an organization committed to dealing with food insecurity). Vernal also helped to establish the African Canadian Christian network.

Reverend Savage enjoys living in Mississauga close to family and friends.
