Making The Mark is a day long conference hosted by The HopeWorks Connection, and is aimed at encouraging children and youth (grades 2 – 12) to strive towards academic excellence. This conference is offered during the school year at a time when both energy and resources are waning. Making The Mark provides motivational, skills-building workshops that provide students with a positive academic outlook and helps re-energizes them to strive for their personal best.
Making The Mark provides students with the educational tools to help motivate them to re-commit to their academic goals as well we inspire them through motivational speakers. All of this is done through informative, engaging, fun-filled activities.
Along with academics, Making The Mark workshops also focus on health & wellness and financial literacy. This year’s theme is: “Passport To Excellence.” Each participant will receive a passport which will be ‘stamped’ as they complete each workshop or activity. They will hand in this passport at the end of the day to receive a grab bag full of school supplies and personal care products, thanks to the support of the Foresters Community Involvement grant.
The next Making The Mark will take place on Saturday, March 15th, 2014.
